GLYPT Friends Page
Greenwich & Lewisham Young People’s Theatre creates dynamic, innovative and challenging arts and theatre-based activity for, with and by young people. With an established history and reputation for arts and education-based programming our work strives to enrich the lives of its audiences and participants - particularly those with limited access to, and experience of, theatre and the arts.
With the support of our Friends Programme we will to be able to continue to offer the best possible experiences for the thousands of young people we work with each year.
We're looking for more friemds. What kind of friend are you?
Friend £50-£199
More than half of our participants face some form of financial hardship and receive a subsidised place in our Youth Theatre. £75 provides one Youth Theatre bursary for a year.
Good Friend £200-£999
Our Youth Council needs £250 each year; one theatre light costs £500; and costumes for one theatre production cost £850.
Best Friend £1,000+
Our Technical Training programme costs £1,500 per term; £2,500 will pay for the Youth Theatre’s end-of-term performances; and £6,600 will commission the writing of a new play for young audiences.
Special Friends
We want our work to be accessible for all young people. Special Friends will help us build an Access Fund that will further enable young disabled people to take part, especially deaf and hard of hearing children (a sign language interpreter for one workshop group costs £1,000 a term).
If you want to be a Special Friend just tick the Special Friend box on the application form - we’ll take 25% of your donation and put it in the Access Fund.
