Whatever Makes You Happy
Whatever Makes You Happy is a new initiative for GLYPT, launched in 2011. It seeks to increase good mental health and wellbeing amongst vulnerable young people using drama and the arts to build confidence, self-esteem and resilience skills, and to challenge prejudice through the power of theatre.
It followed 10 years of groundbreaking practice with refugees and asylum-seekers, and several other projects with Looked After children, young carers, young people with learning difficulties and disabilities and young survivors of domestic abuse. The WHATEVER agenda will operate across the whole company and will include a drama group for young people with special educational needs and disabilities, intervention work in schools, theatre that raises awareness about bullying and mental health problems and specialist support for young people with barriers to inclusion to join our mainstream youth theatre.

An innovative and award-winning project in partnership with Drumbeat ASD School. For 4 years GLYPT has been delivering workshops on the school bus for autistic children, and those with severe complex and enduring special educational needs. Young people take part in creative workshops with professional artists on their bus journeys to and from school.
